the buck stops here

on thursday morning (roughly 4:55am) i was on my way into work. driving south on the hannagen (if your not familiar with bellingham, it is farmland, and pitch black at that time of day). i was 1/4 to 1/2 mile from bakerview when it happened.
i was driving, minding my own business when a big buck jumped in front of my car. i didn't see it coming at all, so i hit it going 50-55 mph. thankfully i drove a huge volvo and was not injured at all (maybe a little whiplash) it could have been a lot worse. i was talking to my boss this morning and he was talking about how glad he was that it was a huge volvo and not a small honda or something. amazing how something so insignificant and ordinary has benefits a year anda half later...let me explain. last summer hannah's car 'blew up' (actually i don't really know what happened, just that it wasn't working). so her folks and i bought this volvo for me and she has been driving the hyundai since. i am so glad for this, because it would have been a lot worse in a smaller car.
when the deer hit it popped the hood up, blocking my view, and crushed my engine...well here are some pictures:
